The COVID-19 crisis is affecting everyone in every market and is taking a toll on personal and business health around the world. This is felt especially hard in SMBs (small- and medium-sized businesses) that often do not have the extra cash in the bank to ride out difficult times or to spend to recoup losses. In response, CEO of Google and Alphabet, Sundar Pichai, announced Google’s commitment to provide $800+ million to support small businesses and crisis response through NGOs and non-profits.
Google Ads Credits For SMBs
Part of Google’s larger commitment includes $340 million in Google Ads credits for small and medium-sized businesses. These credit notifications will appear in qualifying accounts that were active within the past year (since January 2019) and will be able to be used until December 31, 2020. Advertisers will be able to use these credits across the different platforms of Search, Display & YouTube.
Who Is Eligible
According to the Google Ads Help article, the ad credits will be available to small and medium businesses, who have advertised directly with Google or through their partners, with active accounts since the beginning of 2019.
When Will Credits Be Distributed
Small and medium-sized businesses worldwide that have been active advertisers since the beginning of 2019 will be informed in the coming months through notifications within their Google Ads account.
